I took a day off yesterday in the hope of reviving a brain cell or two. I'm not sure that it worked. Okay, I'm sure that it didn't work! As I keep saying (I'm really very good at repeating myself) I'll come back later and rework, but at least the outlines getting set down. ( For ten days Lily and James got used to being parents and learning to be a family with Harry ... ) Word Count: 1,749 Previous Total: 79,562 New Total: 81,311
I suppose I ought to set myself a new target here for part II. Bearing in mind part I was about 78,000 words and covered 2 years and part II covers 16 months, but there are less events to fit in, but more interaction and development between J/L and the other marauders (gosh I'm rambling again) I think I'll set it at another 30,000 words. See how that goes. ETA: Because this has become much longer than I anticipated and because there is clearly no way whatsoever I'm going to finish the story in November, I've decided to make this post the beginning of Part II. That way the part of my brain that needs to have resolved this during the deadline is satisfied and I don't feel that I've not done what I set out to do. And, I can take the second part more slowly and sedately. I might even get around to starting to edit the first half, which is very much a draft. Lily and Harry leave the hospital to start life as a family with James. I debated whether James and Lily would actually know about the Prophecy and then decided that Dumbledore wouldn't leave them without at least some information. Added to that I was prompted to decide they would know when I heard Remus tell Harry in the PofA film they knew they were marked for death. So, even without checking that the words appeared in the text of Pof A I went for it. Hence we have, the Prophecy. ( As May turned into June and the days drew towards their fullest, even working ... ) Word Count: 2,280 Previous Total: 68,640 New Total: 70,920
Not snappied up, but has information contained within which is necessary. Tomorrow I have plans to get moving. But we'll see what happens when I start writing. I think I'm on a bit of a downer at the moment, not sure why, but hope that it doesn't show in the writing, although I'm sure it will.
